ΑΓΡ Builds Strong Competitors
G
amma has been highly successful in our recent athletic endeavors.
Our softball team made it into the fraternity league finals this year.
We won six games straight, but lost the championship game. Despite
disappointment, we are proud to earn second out of 40 teams. While we
were not as successful in basketball, we won our final three games, which
included a 12-point victory over our rival team, preventing them from
making the playoffs.
We have had two successful philanthropy teams as well. Six brothers won
a philanthropy dodgeball tournament in the fall. Three brothers won a
three-on-three basketball tournament, which benefitted Children's Miracle
Network Hospitals. We look forward to more healthy competition as we
begin our soccer season.

T
hree active Gammas brought six members of the fall 2014 new member class on a trip to the
University of Michigan. They packed up into cars on October 10 and headed northwest. After
hitting traffic in Pittsburgh, picking up the RV, and hitting traffic again in Ohio, they finally made
it to Ann Arbor after 1 a.m. Wasting no time, they started tailgating with other Penn State fans.
The group stayed for an upsetting loss but
had a great time. They tailgated with students,
alumni, and fans from both schools. They also
attended a daytime party at Theta Chi.
The trip stayed within $100 of their budget
and they made it home by dinnertime on
Sunday. The whole group would like to thank
the alumni who generously donated to fund
the trip. It is greatly appreciated and the trip
will not be forgotten! We plan to continue this
tradition in coming semesters.

Greek Week
Achievements
G
amma Chapter participated in
Greek Week with Delta Zeta
and Theta Delta Chi. The week-long
philanthropy is dedicated to showing
the positive impact Greek organizations
make on the community. We began with
the spring carnival on April 12. Each
organization set up an event for children
to participate in, such as a ring toss,
food drives, races, sports tournaments,
and pageants. We were then awarded
spirit points based on dedication and
success in these events. We are proud to
be among the many Greek organizations
that engage and make a difference
within the community during Greek
Week. We are already looking forward
to next year!
