5 alpha gamma rho Eleven Men Join the Gamma Brotherhood T his year ΑΓΡ was very successful in our recruiting efforts. Over 100 undergraduates stopped by and were given tours by me and other brothers. We invited potential new members to stop by and eat dinner with us, as well as to come over to hangout, watch the Super Bowl, and participate in a poker tournament. We gave out 22 bids, which were accepted by 11 men. We are proud to have 11 more great men to call brothers! Fraternally, Nick Walker '14 (Γ1657) VNR Recruitment ndw5091@psu.edu The spring 2015 new member class is introduced at Founder's Day. brothers Work hard to maintain the Gamma house A t Gamma, we have been busy keeping the house in running order. Recently, brothers have been occupied cleaning out rooms and making them more comfortable. Red lounge, on the third floor, has been renovated with different couches, a new layer of paint, and a new speaker system. Brothers in the house have been dedicated to making their living areas feel more homey. Repairs have been made all over the house. The second floor bathroom has a new ventilation fan and new shower curtains. Holes on the third and second floors have been patched. The apartment's side door has a new combination lock, allowing easier access to the house for brothers. In the beginning of March, we suffered from a serious pipe break in Great Hall. The faulty pipes have been replaced accordingly. These minor setbacks have not stopped us from keeping the house in pristine condition. We hope to continue the tradition of the most beautiful Greek house at PSU. In October our philanthropy committee orchestrated ΑΓΡ's and OPHIA's Haunted House, benefiting the Nick Smiles Foundation. Our total contribution was over $1,000, a house record for all past philanthropy events. The State College community, as well as children and students, came out to the event to support Nick's cause. The whole brotherhood was engaged and entertained in transforming the Gamma house into a spooky, fun-filled night. On March 28, we held Parents' Weekend with our partner sorority Phi Sigma Sigma. Parents and undergraduates alike had a great time at the chapter house. We enjoyed the spring weather and had lunch outside on the patio. Parents were able to appreciate our house and activities through tours around the house and yard. We look forward to the fall semester, as our philanthropy and community services committees have already began plans for an ΑΓΡ pig roast!
