W e have a lot of exciting developments on our Gamma Phi project to share with the brotherhood. As you can see from the photos, construction is moving forward and it is hard to keep up with all the progress. Revised Campaign goal The campaign committee has looked at the final construction costs, and the progress to date on the campaign, and revised our initial campaign goal to $10 million. As many of you may know from personal experience, a large construction project comes with surprises and unforeseen costs. The same holds true for our large renovation and expansion. Below are some of our additional upgrades and unforeseen expenses. • Replaced the roof on the old house; • Installed all new windows in old house; • Increased the basement square footage throughout; and • Secured the foundation on old house in order to enlarge basement plan. The increased goal doesn't only cover construction costs, but also must cover interior fixtures, architect fees, etc. Reaching the goal will also allow us to replenish our funds for Beta scholarships that support our brothers' academic pursuits. Please know that the campaign committee is being good stewards of your dollars. We are pleased that as the campaign has been successful, we have been able to make solid construction decisions and we haven't had to cut corners to meet our budget. $600,000 Challenge issued Brothers, have you ever thrown away $600,000? Without your help, Gamma Phi risks doing just that! Thanks to the generosity of a small group of alumni, any pledge or gift to the Honoring Our Traditions, Providing for the Future campaign made between now and September 30, 2015, will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $600,000. This means that your gift or pledge will be doubled in value and go twice as far. In order for us to get this $600,000, we need to raise an additional $600,000. If you have already given, your pledge increase will also be matched! Don't miss your chance to capitalize on this initiative. If you've been contemplating a gift to the campaign, the time is now!
