ANCHOR Gamma Xi Fall 2013 Gamma Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma at Texas Tech University - Spring 2015 I t's a great time to be a Gamma Xi and the excitement at Texas Tech is palpable. The undergraduates have many exciting plans in store for the spring and summer months and are doing a wonderful job of upholding our Gamma Xi ideals. Everyone is looking forward to moving into the new lodge in August. Construction is well underway, and our construction manager reports that the project is on schedule. In the next few weeks we should be complete with framing. The electrical, plumbing, and HVAC will start roughing in and be near completion in late April. Upon completion of inspections of rough-ins we will start insulation and drywall. We have made great progress with the Building On a Tradition of Excellence campaign to fund our new lodge. To date we have raised an impressive $728,242 toward our $900,000 goal. A sincere and heartfelt thanks to those who have already contributed. The finish line is in sight, but we need the help of all Delta Gamma sisters to get there. Only 12% of Gamma Xi alumnae have given back to the campaign. We want this to be a collaborative effort across all generations, and we know we can improve our participation rate. To those who have not yet made a gift, we strongly encourage your thoughtful consideration of this project. Participation is our main focus now, and gifts of all levels are much appreciated. This campaign is vital to our success and your help is needed immediately so that we may reach our goal as quickly as possible. The following facts might help in the consideration of your own level of support. (Continued on page 3) Help us continue construction by donating at http://dggammaxi. kintera.org/ donate. For decades, new eras of women have become bonded to one another through the sisterhood. Of all the significant aspects that come with being in a sorority, sharing a legacy membership between mother and daughter is one of the most momentous. "The opportunity to pin my badge on both of my daughters during their initiation couldn't be more precious to me. Knowing that Kimberly '08, Kelli '12, and Delta Gamma all mutually selected one another is a very rewarding aspect of my life that is hard to fully express. It makes me smile that they are both my daughters and my sisters," shared Denise Pendergrass Pardee '79. (Continued on page 6)
