NEBRASKA CHAPTER 3 BROTHERS GIVE BACK TO CAPITAL CAMPAIGN Evan Luxon '07 Supports the Future of FarmHouse What does FarmHouse mean to you? FarmHouse has provided me with a community of men who are not only my friends, but also role models. They continue to live exemplary lives and do incredible things, which pushes me to be a better man myself. Why is this project important to you and to the chapter? During recruitment, the unfortunate truth is that FarmHouse's location on east campus can be a turnoff for potential members. In order to stay competitive and help those men get over their initial hesitations, it's crucial for the physical house to be one of the best on campus. What do you think is the most compelling reason to support the campaign? By supporting this campaign, we have a chance to play a pivotal role in the history of FarmHouse at Nebraska. This is an ambitious project that will impact the chapter for many years to come, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to influence the future in such a substantial way. Curtis Knobbe '94 Encourages Alumni to Get Involved in Campaign "My years as an active in the house (1994-1997) were some of the best years of my life. I now want to give back to the organization that helped shape me as a young man and to give the same opportunities to another generation of FarmHouse men. I encourage other FarmHouse alumni to reminisce about their days in the house and to make a donation to FarmHouse's Next 100 Years campaign. The FarmHouse experience is obviously not about the physical structure, but having modern living quarters will play a part in FarmHouse's ability to continue recruiting the best and brightest students for years to come." "My experience at FarmHouse was transformational, and throughout my life, every interaction I've had with FarmHouse has been an exceptional experience. I continue to marvel at the quality, the integrity and the achievements of the men associated with FarmHouse. The tradition and history of the organization continues to produce a legacy we can be proud of, and I am glad to do what I can to help ensure that will continue. "Currently, I am glad to be able to play a small role in helping FarmHouse continue its mission as a member of the International FarmHouse Foundation Board of Trustees. The Foundation's function is to financially support the work and mission of the fraternity. The Board has realized that chapter housing is the single biggest challenge facing the next FarmHouse generation. We need to compete with much more competitive university housing offerings, as well as other fraternities facilities. The standards have moved higher, and they continue to do so at a rapid pace. FarmHouse chapters across North America have realized this. Several chapters have recently completed construction on new chapter houses and a half dozen more are raising funds for construction in the near future." Andy Jacobitz '85 Values the Tradition and History of FarmHouse Roger Tremayne '67 Gives Back to Fraternity "Even though I have no thoughts of retirement, simply reaching the arbitrary age of retirement creates an opportunity to reflect upon the past. My years in FarmHouse were a special time in my life and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in this experience. Being able to live with individuals that not only aspire to high standards of character, but also set lofty goals and make the sacrifices necessary to achieve them has been an inspiration to me. The four short years that I lived at FarmHouse has been a positive influence on my life. "It would seem fitting and incumbent upon oneself to support the building fund at FarmHouse. It is a long-term commitment to provide living space for its members now and well into the future. It has always been my belief that to whom much is given, much is required. This project is not only an opportunity to contribute to the future of FarmHouse, but also an obligation to those who have greatly benefited from the FarmHouse experience."
