It has been 7 years since the students at either Quartzsite Elementary or Ehrenberg Elementary have partici- pated in the Salome High School Annual Track Meet. The return of our schools on March 23, 2015 was met with outstanding results, with Ehrenberg Elementary 7th/8th grade boys receiving a trophy for 2nd place boys team. Jake Rayner, an 8th grade student at Ehren- berg Elementary School also received a trophy for overall male athlete 7th/8th grade. His points total were higher than any other boy at the meet. There were six team total competing in the track meet. Quartzsite and Ehrenberg were joined by Salome, Wenden, Aguila, and Bagdad. Overall, it was a phenomenal showing by our stu- dents athletes as they returned to the track world. The coaches, Ron Rowland (Quartzsite), Rey Alaniz, and Christina Carter (Ehrenberg) were all blown away at the level of performance of these students with limited practice and equipment.
