April 1, 2015 www.DesertMessenger.com 7 OPINION Opinions expressed in letters to the editor do not necessarily represent those of the Desert Messenger. letters to the editor THANK YOU THANK YOU to Harry of Quartzsite WiFi, who came over and stayed a long time doing all kinds of checks on my computer for me. He got most straightened out. I appreciate the time and carry you gave me and for caring about my fur children, they love people and get so excited. Glenda Kae Hines year round resident SEND IN THE CLOWNS Council meetings remind me of the old song, Send in the clowns... Except the words should be Send in the Badgers. Some of the meanings for Badgering are to harass or urge per- sistently, posturing and nagging. It's not a laughing matter, but it provokes laughter. Laughter is not seemly in a public place when directed at a cer- tain person as a derision, except when a public offi cial himself derides the citizenry. Shame upon you council- man Davidson. Too each and every citizen a public apology is in order. Elmer London Quartzsite, Arizona MUCH GRATITUDE We wish to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make our wed- ding such a memorable experience. Gold Sand Concentrates Placer Gold 24 Mesh Size up to Nuggets Quartzsite Licensed Business by Joanne Winer We just held the 20th annual Party in the Park for Celia's Rainbow Gardens, and it was a great day for ev- eryone there! We had over 300 people there, and some of the best music you can fi nd in this area to get people up dancing and singing along. We would like to thank everyone for making it such a wonderful event again this year. A special thanks goes fi rst to all the volunteer help we had preparing and serving the food--Richard and Lois, Archie and Terry, Nora, Glenna and Anita--you all worked so hard and we couldn't have done it without you. Thanks also to the General Store for ordering and keeping all the food until we needed it. A very special thanks to Jerry Mullins who has played at our events both the spaghetti dinner in November and all the parties in the park for all these years--he is not in a regular band right now and brought out some great musician friends to play for the party this year--Ted Keys, Paul Moudy, Bernie Seeley, and Sher- ry Bensmiller. They all got together to play for the party and what a talented group of musicians they are!! Paul also brought out his piano and his friend and fellow musician Buddy Apfel came from Phoenix with his antique tuba and trombones. Buddy also sat in with the country musicians and everyone loved all the music!! A very special thanks to Karen Renfro who donated two huge gift baskets full of skin products for the raffl e. The 50/50 drawing brought a prize of $100 to one of the people who came to the party and bought tickets, and the other $100 went to help pay for the party. A thanks also goes to Bubba from Town Hall for opening up the gates and bathrooms, and taking care of the trash after we were done. We want to thank everyone for coming out and enjoying the great food and music, and for their contin- ued support of the Gardens. There is still a lot of work to be done in the Gardens, and anyone who has time to volunteer for some work is welcome to call 927-6551. What a great party!
