D o you remember the special feeling you had the first time you entered the doors of Gamma Zeta? Is it the variety of women blended together that makes life a little more exciting? You bet, Real Strong Women, yesterday, today, and tomorrow! Gamma Zeta had strong beginnings, is strong today, and has an even stronger future ahead. As the Gamma Zeta chapter advisor, it has been a wonderful opportunity to be present to welcome new members, learn from the collegians, and get to know ACW alumnae who are getting involved again. It is evident that sisterhood still exists within the halls of Gamma Zeta by watching young women grow in their positions at ACW, in their interactions with others, around KSU, and even in the Manhattan community. We have the opportunity for members to work together to make ACW the best sorority at KSU that we all know it is! As Gamma Zeta advances into its seventh decade, together our collegians and alumnae have the opportunity to grow in all areas of our membership criteria. I hope you can visit 1835 Todd Road again, send a potential new member to visit, or help with recruitment or initiation. What are you waiting for? The roads are paved, just get here! We are waiting for you. Gamma Zeta Alumnae Day is April 11, 2015, also the same day as KSU Open House. Be sure to stop by the house for a tour, a treat, and to pick up more information on Gamma Zeta today. Together let us seek the heights! On the morning of February 14, members of the chapter put on an event that included 20 teams, each showing their best dodging skills in competition to win the grand champion title. To kick off the event, co-ed teams from the Riley County Police Department played one another. This group not only participated in the games, but also raised an additional $1,000 to go to the Manhattan Crisis Center. Through many dips, dodges, ducks, dives, and more dodges, the teams were narrowed down to the final four teams. In the women's bracket, Manhattan Christian College's team was able to overtake Pi Beta Phi and claim first place, while in the men's bracket, it was Pi Kappa Phi who would come out with the win over Kappa Sigma. With a grand total of $2,520 going to the Women's Crisis Center in Manhattan, this year's Dodge Domestic Violence event was a wonderful success for the chapter. We would like to thank VP Philanthropy Elaina Latimer '13, as well as all of her committee members for coordinating and facilitating this event!
