Hebrews 13:8 Symptoms occurred and a doctor's visit with my family physician con- firmed that something was not right. An ultrasound was taken and followed with a biopsy by a gynecologist. They brought a definite diagnosis of uterine cancer. That was in January of 2009. The cancer specialist wanted to make an immediate appointment at UC Davis for surgery and any needed chemo therapy. I told Dr. Anderson that I would need to get back to her after praying. After seeking the Lord's direction and fasting, I received my answer. The soft inner voice of the Holy Spirit let me know that I was not to have any surgery, but to trust the Lord for my healing. I assured my two sons that I know God uses surgeons and doctors in the healing process. But I also assured them that I had to follow His specific direction, rather than man's wisdom. My doctor asked for permission to call one of my sons who had accompanied me during a visit. She cared about me enough to attempt to persuade me towards the surgery. When I did not change my mind she let me know that I had about one year to live without the surgery and possibly four years with the surgery. On July 26 of 2011 I had a CT scan. LIFE POSSIBLY EXISTS A.M. Bhattacharyya, an Healed of cancer "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, The results came on July 28th. The uterus was perfectly normal. It is real- ly true that, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). The Word of God became my medi- cine and the Great Physi- cian, Jesus Christ, is the One who healed and is continuing to heal me every moment of every day. Readers should not con- clude from my experience that they must rely on prayer alone at all times for healing, but rather that we should rely on obedience to God. If He promises divine healing we can rely on it; at other times we rely on prayer and the worldly resources that He has ulti- mately provided. Now I am believing Him for an ing all of our needs. Some sweet folks have said, "Con- gratulations Patricia." I always respond, "No – Glory to God!" He alone gets all of the glory and praise. I'm so thankful for the mercy of our Lord! Patricia Martin GodTalk extreme makeover. Other health issues have attacked my physical body for many years. I believe God for strong legs to walk up and down in the name of the Lord, for removal of hashimoto thyroid disease, and about five other problem areas. But God is the source! He can heal cancer or any other ail- ment just as easily as He can heal a hangnail. Our God is limitless in meet- When we pray we must pray with full assurance and childlike faith. I praise God that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. The Amplified Bible says, "Look- ing away {from all that will distract} to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith {giving the first incen- tive for our belief} and is also its Finisher {bringing it to maturity and perfection}. I like to add, "With Him there are no limits." I trust this testimony of God's grace and mercy will give you hope and fresh assurance concerning His indi- vidual love and care in your own life too (see Psalm 139). Patricia Martin is the founder of God's Precious Jewels, a ministry to Native American children on reservations all over the Western United States. She is based in Red Bluff and found her healing from cancer where she lives with her God. Do you believe there is life on other planets? Voices of Faith active member of Hindu Community, Kansas City, Mo., area: The scientists have been trying to detect extraterrestrial life in the universe for many years, but so far without any success. I believe it is quite conceiv- able that somewhere out in the unfathomable universe, there are Earth-like heaven- ly bodies where conditions to sustain life do exist. Hinduism affirms that every life has a soul. Individ- ual soul (also called self), which is divine and immor- tal, illumines the vital princi- ple that keeps the psycho- physical complex alive. When the soul leaves the body, the source of illumina- tion is gone. So, the body dies. Scripture, Isa Upan- ishad says, "At the heart of all — wherever there is in the universe — abides the self." Since the divine spirit is everywhere in the uni- verse, the possible existence of extraterrestrial life is in conformity with Hindu faith. All living beings — humans, subhumans, even plants — have soul. Soul evolves through the process of reincarnations. In plants, soul's revelation is minimal. Human life attains the high- est stage of unfoldment of soul. Only human soul is capable of attaining salva- tion (unity with God) through spiritual practices. Though we don't know at what level extraterrestrial life has evolved through unfoldment of self, human- like life form having the power of discrimination is the highest stage. Hindu scripture talks about Brahmalok (kingdom of God), a spiritual world, distinct from material world, where enlightened souls stay for a while before final absorption with God. For example, verse 29 of chapter 42: "And among His Signs is the cre- ation of the heavens and the earth and the living crea- tures that He has scattered through them: and He has power to gather them together when He wills." In addition, other verses in the Qur'an indicate the existence of planets similar to the earth, such as: "God is He Who created seven heavens and of the earth also their like..." (65:12). A noted Quranic scholar has explained the phrase "of the earth also their like" to mean that God has created several planets inhabited by the creatures similar to the ones we have on the earth. 3B
