ALPHA CHI OMEGA 3 A s president of the Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, I am honored to serve our chapter and our sisterhood! We have a wonderful and passionate new executive board that consists of talented women who exude our five membership criteria, promote our sisterhood, and work with our chapter members to live by our values. RECRUITMENT SUCCESS The fall 2014 recruitment was a huge success! Our chapter maintained a high retention rate throughout the entire process, and a 94% retention rate for new members joining our sisterhood! Approximately 45 women joined Alpha Chi Omega last semester. We reached the campus quota last semester, so there was no need to go through a spring recruitment process. However, this semester, our women have already started planning for the fall recruitment and hosting several meetings on various topics with our sisters and campus recruitment leaders. We have improved our recruitment planning process and retention numbers over the past few years, and continue to make this a priority for the chapter to recruit and retain Real. Strong. Women. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS Academics were great last semester and our chapter had a 3.24 GPA. Alpha Beta is ranked fifth among sororities and 10th among fraternities, sororities, and co-ops on Purdue's campus. These rankings have indicated a significant improvement for our chapter and we continue to make academics our top priority for our women this semester. FOCUS ON PHILANTHROPY Our chapter completed our fall philanthropy, Sumo Slam, in the Tower Acres with many Greek chapters participating. Our sisters supported several other philanthropies, including SAE's sand volleyball tournament. So far this semester, Alpha Beta hosted another philanthropy event on campus. The Alpha Chi Kiss-A-Guy event took place during Healthy Relationships Week hosted by our National Fraternity. Our women promoted healthy relationships and sold several items for the event. We raised $3,719 for the local YWCA! When I went through recruitment, I was very blessed to have the opportunity to join the Alpha Beta Chapter and am still just as grateful for my experience at Purdue. We always look forward to seeing our alumnae sisters at the chapter house and hearing their memories. Please visit us and let us know if you would like a tour or to host an event. You are always welcome home! What an exciting time for everyone! Our philanthropy, Alpha Chi Kiss-A-Guy, was very successful. This year, we made shirts and buttons to sell at the event, raising a total of $3,719. We asked Purdue students their opinion of what love is and received a large number of responses. Overall, we were excited about the success of the event. The dollars will be contributed to the local YWCA chapter and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Executive board elections occurred in November and the new board is excited to take leadership in a wonderful chapter. Executive Board President Brenna Hoffman '13 McCordsville, Ind.
