Sara and her husband, David, live in Carmel,
Indiana, and have three children: Caroline, a
Vanderbilt alumna who teaches kindergarten in
Indianapolis; Melissa, a DePauw alumna who
teaches 8th grade science in South Carolina
through Teach for America; and Lewis, a junior
at the University of Denver.
Among Sara's many hobbies, she enjoys reading,
gardening, cooking, knitting, training for half-
marathons, and, most of all, spending time
with her family and friends. And if you needed
further proof to the phrase, "Choose a job you
love, and you will never have to work a day in
your life," Sara says she loves her job at Lilly
Endowment so much that it almost seems like
