Gamma Tau Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity at Drake University ~ Spring 2015
T
he walls are up, the roof is on, and windows
are in at the Gamma Tau house. Significant
progress has been made in these winter months
with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC installation
work happening now.
As each stage of construction
begins, excitement builds among
the active members and those
of us watching the progress
online—www.ibeamsystems.
com/private/thetachi. Much of
the work has now moved inside
and we can see drywall being
brought in.
When the weather breaks, brick will
go up outside and we'll begin to see work on
the façade. The selection of everything from
furniture and light fixtures to ceiling beams has
started, all to have a finished product by the
middle of June and a move-in date in August.
The fundraising efforts behind this construction
have been phenomenal. You have made drawings
and dreams become a reality, raising nearly
$1.75 million thus far. This support has come
from 30% of our alumni, surpassing the average
participation seen by most Greek organizations
in a campaign like ours. This is a testament
to Gamma Tau and the mark it has
made on our lives. You responded
to the challenge presented by
our brothers, pushing us within
$100,000 of our campaign goal.
We are inches away from
raising $1,856,000!
Now is the time to join us as we
sprint toward the finish line. Your
contribution will support an engaged
and enthusiastic group of young brothers.
Our new Theta Chi home will provide a
safe environment, complete with the modern
technology and living spaces our members
need to remain competitive at Drake. More
brothers will be able to live and gather in this
new home, building unity and a continued
foundation of excellence.
Our efforts will be celebrated during Relays
in April with a ribbon cutting ceremony and
celebration. We hope you will join us for the
weekend's festivities and be one of the first to
tour our Gamma Tau home. See page 6 for more
details.
We have nearly reached our goal, but your
help is essential to finishing our project as
planned. Make your gift before the ribbon is
cut in April, or extend your current pledge
by an additional year by using the envelope
enclosed or visiting www.drakethetachi.org to
make your gift online.
