Now is the time for you to prepare to celebrate! You should have received your formal invitation in the mail in early February. The beauty of the invitation will be mirrored by the celebration itself. We hope each of you will be able to join us. It is going to be an eventful weekend from the moment you arrive. On Saturday 607 Russell Street will be a busy place, starting with the morning walk for CASA and the Alpha Chi Educational Foundation, a buffet lunch, the opportunity to renew our chapter vows, a display showcasing our own Alpha Chi artists and authors, and a tea featuring a wonderful fashion show of dress styles through the decades. The highlight, of course, will be the gala dinner at the Purdue Union on Saturday night. Each guest will take home an engraved keepsake and a centennial journal. Marilynn Bottomley Dammon '66 is putting together a history of the Alpha Chi Chapter along with some wonderful photographs. The journal will also include the weekend's agenda of events, testimonials, plus our Century of Sisterhood campaign donor list and a page recognizing those pledge classes that have reached the 50 percent class participation level. It will be a piece of history. Links Needed for Friday Night Reunions and More In preparation for the weekend, we would like to identify an Alpha Chi link for each pledge class. Our idea is to publish the list of Alpha Chi links so that anyone in any class will have a go-to sister for information and planning. Some women may not know if anyone else they know will be attending, or where their class plans to gather for a Friday night reunion dinner, or how to answer the question, "What should I wear?" An easy way to contact other sisters will be a big help! In the past we referred to an Alpha Chi link as a chair or a leader that appeared to indicate a lot of work. We think the concept of linking is more in keeping with the intent of offering your name and email as a way to help us all link up. If you are willing to be your pledge class link, or if you have already stepped forward, please e-mail Emily King Connor '03 or Beth Heis Sammon '03 so that we have your contact information. Their emails are in the contact box at right. At Theta's National Convention, six Purdue Thetas held up a banner to highlight Alpha Chi's upcoming centennial celebration. Judy Bernet Evans '64 and Marcia Erickson Weber '63 are greeted at Homecoming by Morgan Sprecher '12 and Kyle Kazanjian '13. The actives will be helping with the centennial, just as they were at Homecoming, where they were busy at both doors greeting returning alumnae and giving house tours. They had nametags, a special letter from an active, and Theta cookies for everyone.
