Founders Day
Linda Markins Sorensen '60, president of the Alpha
Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta Educational
Foundation, was the keynote speaker at Founders
Day. She spoke about the new foundation and the role
it has played in the Century of Sisterhood Campaign
and the role it will play in the years ahead.

Beverly Beck McCollough '55, president,
Lafayette Alumnae Chapter, welcomed everyone
to the Founders Day Luncheon at the Lafayette
Country Club on Saturday, January 24.

chapter's alumnae engagement director, and
Grace Coffey '12, past ritualist.
Four women were on hand to receive their 25-year
certificates, Wendy Sauer '90, Alex Pappas Cain
'90, Lea Schrumpf '90, and Susan Singer
McCrabb '90. Their class of 1990 was
Alpha Chi's 75th pledge class.
1999 Initiates Reunite at
Homecoming
T
he pledge class of 1999 reunited at Homecoming last fall to celebrate the life of their
pledge sister Melissa Morris '99. Melissa was a loyal daughter, sister, and friend who
will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, contagious laugh, and outrageous stories.
Funds were donated to the chapter for a garden to be planted and dedicated in Melissa's name.
Visit 607 Russell Street in the fall and you will see the garden in full bloom, meant to forever
honor Melissa's birthday.
