lumni spent the day reconnecting with brothers old and new during our 2014 alumni tailgate in September, as Auburn crushed San Jose State 59-13.
Special thank-you to the 90-plus 1980s alumni in attendance—it was great seeing and catching up with brothers, and the active members had an
even better time meeting the men who made Alabama Alpha what it is today.

reetings brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon; I hope your new year has got-
ten off to a great start for you and your families. Here on the plains,
the school year is off to a fantastic start. We followed up a great spring
semester with an even better fall semester for all the brothers of Alabama
Alpha. In the last year, we have had quite a few monumental events take
place and our future is looking bright.
ALABAMA ALPHA STRIVES TO BE BETTER FOR BEAR
Last spring we experienced a heartbreaking loss of one of the greatest
brothers to ever walk our halls, Barrett "Bear" Townsend '13. While
not a day goes by that every brother doesn't think of Bear or his family,
we have all noticed a change in brothers who now strive each day to be
the friend, mentor, and brother that Bear was to everyone he encountered.
His hard-working attitude and dedication to Alabama Alpha has only been
epitomized since his passing. Because of Bear, this Chapter will always
have someone we will strive to live like for the rest of our lives.
LEAVING OUR MARK
Since then, there has been constant dedication throughout the spring and
fall to not only make our house and brotherhood better in our own eyes,
but also show the entire campus why we have been, and still are, the best
fraternity on campus. Even though the house is showing its age, we are
constantly trying to make improvements. We have completed some exte-
