pg. 5 Alpha Gamma Ongoing Recruitment Endeavors Bring in 32 Quality Men O ur efforts this fall in formal and informal recruitment have netted a class of 32 men—a remarkable success by any measure. Through formal recruitment, formerly known as formal rush, we welcomed 18 new members to our fraternity. This is the second time that the brothers from Alpha Gamma participated in formal recruitment. The experiences from the previous year served as helpful tools. The quality and quantity of the recruitment training sessions held before the year began were the biggest factors in our success, and not having to worry about last-minute logistical planning allowed us to focus all of our energy on the potential new members. But our efforts did not end there because we understand recruitment is not limited to the formal phase. The Brothers of Alpha Gamma pride ourselves on recruiting throughout the year, which is highly unusual in the Greek community at Ole Miss. Developing friendships with the potential new members outside the formal recruitment setting allows us to focus on the quality of men and not the quantity. We also take the time to gauge how each individual aligns with our values-based recruiting model. Through informal recruitment we were able to welcome another 14 great young men. This year's class includes 16 Mississippians, along with five from Tennessee, three from Louisiana, two each from Georgia and Texas, and one each from Alabama, California, Missouri, and New Jersey. The group includes two legacies from Alpha Gamma—Josh Caron '19, son of Dr. Richard Caron '82, and Grayson Huber '19, son of Murray Huber '79. We are excited to welcome still more quality men into our brotherhood. The more quality men we recruit, the easier it becomes to recruit and extend our influence and impact upon the University of Mississippi.
