Undergraduates Anticipate Successful Fall Semester Chapter Receives National and University Awards I am so excited to be writing to you from Columbus as the school year begins. With classes and football starting, Rho is excited for what the year has in store. We had an incredible end to the school year last spring and have so many things planned for this semester! ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS For the spring semester, we achieved a chapter GPA of 3.36. Our women are continuing to work hard academically as we ranked fifth among the Panhellenic sororities. The chapter participates in academic initiatives such as study tables and major buddies to promote scholarship. RECORD-BREAKING PHILANTHROPY In March, we hosted our annual philanthropy event, Phi Trotters, which raises money for Sharsharet. We had an extremely successful basketball tournament with more than 20 teams participating. We raised more than $2,600—a new record for Rho! This October, we will host Red Week to raise money for the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation. Events will include an LF Trunk Show, AIDS awareness stations throughout campus, and a grilled cheese sale at the end of the week. UNIVERSITY INVOLVEMENT Our women have remained involved in various service and philanthropies throughout the Ohio State community. Last April, many of our members participated in Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society. With the encouragement from our amazing team captains, we raised more than $4,800 and received the top fundraiser award! ABOVE AND BEYOND We were recently recognized at Ohio State's Greek Awards and Summer Leadership through the national foundation. At Greek Awards in April, we won an award for our outstanding intergroup relations to recognize our chapter's commitment to diversity. Additionally, one of our advisors, Jamie Levine Daniel, Epsilon Eta '08, won Advisor of the Year! At Summer Leadership, we received first place for social media and second place for philanthropy. We were also recognized for our academic achievement and Becky Lord '12 received a national scholarship. We are incredibly proud of the work our women put into our chapter to go above and beyond the standard. A GREAT YEAR FOR RHO With all of the changes to the house and the exciting things planned for the fall, it is going to be a great year for Rho! We look forward to hearing from all of our alumnae and welcoming you back to the house for the room dedication in November. I have loved being president for the past year, and can't wait to see how else Rho will excel!
