The 2014-2015 4-H Program Year has begun and organizers are re- cruiting adult volunteers who would like to edu- cate youth in the commu- nity by leading 4-H proj- ects or helping at youth camp in the summer. I have a dear friend who moved from Red Bluff over a year ago, but comes back to town from time to time to visit. When she does, she has the opportunity to catch up with friends and past customers for a little while. It is such a treat to see her and hear all about where she lives, how much has changed for her and what is next in her adventure. None of that would be possible without Kelli Graves. Kelli opens up space in her business to allow my friend, our friend, to come and set up temporary shop and make it possible for her to see as many people as possible. Not only does she allow her use of the space, she fully stocks the space and charges her nothing for it. Nothing. In a day and age when there is a $4.50 price tag on a cup of coffee, surely there is a premium on business space. Surely it costs Kelli to be this generous. I am guessing that Kelli understands the boomerang princi- ple. That whatever you put out into this vast uni- verse comes back to you. If you spew hate, gos- sip and venom, it will eventually return home to roost. If you are jeal- ous, full of envy and com- parison, you are destined to be criticized and made to feel small. Likewise, if you are generous, kind and thoughtful, you can expect to receive an av- alanche of peace, love and under- standing. Kelli Graves has been a kind hearted woman all of her life. She is incredibly collab- orative and solu- tion focused. Her lifestyle is easy, soft and full. She is giving out what she receives. She at- tracts people to her that are willing to share their grace and ease. Kelli, you matter be- cause you share your space with a traveling friend who without you, might not connect with others when she visits. You matter because you live life in a way that af- fects others in a positive way. You nourish skin and souls in your quaint shop on Walnut. Who wouldn't want to experi- ence your love? I thank you for being the kind of friend who opens up her business space and her heart so I can connect when our friend comes to visit. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your spirit and thank you for being a positive force to boomerang all that is awesome into the world.
