THANK YOU, SPRING 2014 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN DONORS We walk the road together, and we will sing forever This bond will never sever, SigEps we are. Spotlight on Tom Ruck '76 T he SigEp bond has stayed strong with Tom Ruck '76 over the years, a constant reminder of four great years spent at 405 Kentucky Blvd. It was the spirit among Missouri Alpha brothers that convinced Tom and a few friends to join during recruitment. Tom knows Missouri Alpha has changed over the years, yet he remains a steadfast believer in all SigEp has to offer. "Change is the one constant in life. I believe the years I was at 405 were the last of the 'Animal House' years. Culture changes the college experience and for a fraternity to survive, it must change with the trends that are prevalent on college campuses today. SigEp has done a great job in preparing young men for life beyond their fraternity experience." Missouri Alpha could not be possible without strong alumni, and Tom knows there are many to choose from. "SigEp could not survive without alumni who believed in the SigEp values and wanted to make sure they were instilled in the chapter today. Fred Veinfurt '03, Denny Bond '67, and Dave LaRusso '76 were there to make things happen, and of course the red rock alumnus of Missouri Alpha, John Hartman '61, who bleeds SigEp—always has, always will. We are thankful he is a Missouri Alpha brother." Tom recently published the bestselling, award- winning publication Sacred Ground-A Tribute to America's Veterans. Thanks to this book, he has had the opportunity to deliver speeches around the country at national cemeteries on Memorial Day, (Continued on page 4) Missouri AlphA ElEcts NEw ExEcutivE BoArd I could not be more excited to take the reins as president of the Missouri Alpha Chapter. I am confident that the newly elected executive board and I will be able to keep this chapter headed in a positive direction. The support from alumni and undergraduates has been overwhelming. We look forward to improving our reputation as one of SigEp's top chapters and the leading fraternity on the University of Missouri Campus. I hope you will visit Missouri Alpha soon and please feel free to contact me with your thoughts and questions.
