Chili and Cornbread Fundraiser Nov. 22 Rotary Doings by Judi Clark We are now on the other side of Rotary Day… my phone is quiet… no longer pinging with texts, messages, voice mail and email. Finances need to be fi nished; donations announced and made. Archives tucked away. We are pleased with the turn out for the Run, Walk, Rock & Roll as well as the Car & Motorcycle Show. Net profi t from both of these events will be split 50/50 with the Quartzsite Food Bank and End Polio Now. I was told ahead of the event that one can not be disappointed with the results of a fi rst annual because there is nothing to compare it. Our personal assessment is that lack of shade was our main downfall; had we provided more shade people could have enjoyed the games and beer garden more. Our favorite eye-candy of the day? The Pie Eating Contest! Overall, we consider the 1st Annual Rotary Day a success and we look for- ward to planning our 2nd. This was a huge event and required a lot of volunteers, donations and sponsorship. At the risk of omitting someone (I apologize in advance!), I will name each person individually that helped us.
