September 7, 2011 Spirit Walk at Hi Jolly Cemetery Saturday, October 29th from 3pm – 6pm At the Pioneer Section of Hi Jolly Cemetery As part of the Arizona Centennial celebration in Quartzsite, the Hi Jol- ly Cemetery Board is sponsoring a fun, historical walk into the past with members of the community ("Spirits"), hamming it up at selected gravesites. The "Spirits" at these gravesites will fill you in on their history and a wee bit of blarney! Why they came, how they died and what they did in-between is what it's all about. The setting is the 1902-1900's and the residents here LOVE visitors! The character's stories are researched thoroughly and tastefully portrayed using old newspaper clippings, death certificates and census records. The actors/actresses have taken the infor- mation and developed a presentation that includes colorful costumes, props and sometimes a surprise or two for guests. The players transform them- selves into the "Spirits" of Quartzsite's Past! This should be a fun event and they hope to make it a new tradition!
