RECRUITMENT RECOMMENDATIONS Alpha Theta Delta Honored as a Finalist for Two National Awards Cody Saben '14 Wins Highest Undergraduate Honor C hi Psi's 173rd National Convention was hosted in Nashville, Tennessee, and put on by the Central Office and Sewanee: The University of the South. Convention was an amazing time for those who were lucky enough to attend. Alpha Theta Delta was nominated as Thayer finalists, as well as Goodbody trophy finalists. Despite not winning either, being a finalist is a great accomplishment, and we are very proud of the fact that we were nominated for these awards again. We continue to work hard each year to put ourselves in a position to be the best Alpha in the nation. Cody Saben '14 won the Stanley J. Birge award at convention. This award is given to one brother each year and is the highest honor a Chi Psi undergraduate can receive. Brother Saben has contributed a tremendous amount to Alpha Theta Delta, and we congratulate him on this amazing honor. RECRUITMENT GOALS MET Led by Chairmen Michael Ballard '16 and Brett Lofthus '17 recruitment got off to an amazing start, with five pledges signed before the school year ended. This set us up for another great summer of recruitment. Our goal was to recruit 20 gentlemen for the pledge class of 2014. In early September, our recruitment chairmen signed the 20th member of the pledge class, finishing recruitment for the year well before the school year began. We are very excited to have all 20 of these gentlemen move in to the Lodge and begin the new school year. We are very confident in the new members to help continue our success and improve our Alpha in the future. STRIVING FOR MORE With another school year underway, we will strive to continue our tradition of excellence in all aspects. We are focusing on academics and being a top fraternity in GPA on the University of Washington campus. We have added a significant amount of new content to our pledge education program to help educate our new members on adjusting to being in college and living in our Lodge.
