basketball season. So is Doug's wife
and the boys' mother, Barbara Olenyik
Morrow, whose new book on basketball
coaching legend John Wooden is
scheduled to be released later this fall.
IU All-American and current UCLA
coach Steve Alford wrote the foreword
(Indiana Historical Society Press).
Fred Morrow '49, the late father of
Doug and grandfather of the boys,
played guard on the 1941 Plymouth
High School basketball team that was
defeated in regionals by the South Bend
Central Bears. The Bears were coached
that year by none other than Wooden,
whose Hoosier roots ran deep.
