Gamma Xi ANCHOR Gamma Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma Gamma Xi House Corporation P.O. Box 6036 Lubbock, TX 79493-6036 D uring finals week the undergraduates host DG Cram. All sisters are invited to study at the lodge for their finals and enjoy dinner. Last spring, an undergraduate attempted to pick up the chapter's meal from Schlotzsky's Deli with a check pre-made for the correct amount. However, it turns out that Schlotzsky's does not accept checks. While the women tried to figure out a plan, Chancellor Emeritus Kent Hance was also standing in line. He saved the day and paid for the order. The chapter officers sent him a check for the balance the next week, but he wouldn't accept. Chancellor Hance said, "It was both an honor and pleasure to help pay for the order" and he wishes Delta Gamma further success at Texas Tech. Thank you, Chancellor Hance! E ach semester the Gamma Xi Anchor will feature a few undergraduates sharing what their membership in Delta Gamma means to them. "More than sisters and friends, Delta Gamma is about expanding who you are. It isn't about changing yourself, but learning who you are. The chapter gives me an overwhelming feeling to be myself. Coming back to Gamma Xi for work week this summer, I got an overwhelming sense of happiness. I finally felt like I had a real home. I can always come back to Delta Gamma. I will always belong here." Meredith Pettye '13 - Spring "I joined DG because during recruitment I was nervous, and Loren Hughes '11 and her story about why she loves Delta Gamma stuck out to me. Loren eventually became my big.
