ANCHOR Gamma Xi Fall 2013 GAMMA XI CAMPAIGN SETS SAIL Goal Increased to $900,000 Now Is the Time to Make Your Commitment Gamma Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma at Texas Tech University - Fall 2014 G reetings, Gamma Xi sisters! As you all know, the campaign board has been hard at work on the Building on a Tradition of Excellence campaign to raise funds for the new Gamma Xi lodge. We are pleased to announce that, only seven months after announcing our campaign, we have raised more than $710,000! This is a tremendous feat and would not have been possible without the generous support of our alumnae. Having come this far with only 11% alumnae participation, or 227 contributors, we have decided to increase our campaign goal to $900,000. We know we have the strong support of an unwavering alumnae base and can easily reach this new goal. With this in mind, I am excited to report that our bank loan has been secured—thank you, Happy State Bank—and construction has begun! If you have been waiting to make a commitment, now is the time! Your contribution today will ensure the 100% success of our new lodge, as well as help pay upfront costs, minimizing our loan and ensuring financial stability for our chapter's future. In a continuation of the class competition that was launched this summer to increase campaign participation, we have decided to initiate the 500 for $500 Club. Our goal is to secure 500 new gifts at the $500 level, which can be payable over five years—that's only $100 per year! Achieving this would well exceed our campaign goal of $900,000 and put the undergraduate members in a stable financial standing for years to come. The active members have been doing their part since school started with 89 new members recruited into our sisterhood and a successful Do Good week under their belts. Since moving out of the old lodge, they have been meeting at the FarmHouse lodge, the old Gamma Phi Beta lodge. The FarmHouse Fraternity is a great group of young men; they have a smaller group this year and can allow DGs the use of their large room while they use a smaller room for meetings. There have been a lot of details to work out, but both groups have been great about taking care of everything! I want to give special recognition to the last three years of officer teams and all the hard work they have put into this project. (View page 5 for a full listing). Ladies, we would not be where we are today without you! Despite all the effort we have put in, our project will not be completed as planned without more support. Even if you are not in a position to make a multi-year commitment, please consider making a one-time donation. Gifts of any amount are helpful and appreciated. Use the enclosed pledge form or visit http://dggammaxi.kintera.org/donate to send in your contribution today. We really have pulled up anchor and are setting sail on a great new adventure. I wish you would ALL join me! In the bonds, Deborah Greene Finlayson '79 House Corporation President deborah.finlayson@att.net This rendering shows the upstairs view of the new living room. The room will be filled with natural light and will give an impressive first view of our new home. The new staircase will have our beautiful anchor and the opposing wall will feature our Delta Gamma values. The new chapter room will have room for all of our undergraduate members, even all 89 of the new members recruited this fall!
