PI BETA PHI 5 C olorado Alpha has had a busy year thus far, and we are excited to let you know about our plans for this semester. After welcoming home the 2013 pledge class during move-in at our beautiful home, we kick-started this year with work week or as we call it "sparkle week" for recruitment. After a few weeks of practice and recruitment we can proudly say we have pledged 83 New Members! We are beyond excited to welcome these new angels into our chapter and can't wait to watch them fall in love with Pi Phi just like we all have. The New Members started their New Member program on September 16. We loved presenting the new program and all it has to offer as they began their experiences as members of Pi Phi. Big/Little Reveal was on October 10 and I know both the New Members and the 2013 pledge class were so excited for this day. On November 8, we will initiate this newest pledge class. This year we already had our first philanthropic event called Lemonade for Literacy where we sold lemonade on campus to help raise money for Firstbook. We hosted this event on the first day of school, and with the hot day and people racing to find their next classes we were very successful. Our next fall philanthropy will be Arrowspike, a Greek-wide volleyball tournament where each chapter competes against each other for the winning slot with all proceeds also going to Firstbook. We had Buffthon on October 18, which was a dance marathon that the whole Greek community participates in. We were honored to help fund hospital visits and treatments through the Children's Miracle Network. On September 19-21 CU hosted Family Weekend and we welcomed all of our parents to a lovely brunch at Pi Phi, as well as the opportunity to tour the house. A few weeks later we celebrated a combination of our Homecoming weekend and Dad's Weekend. Thank you to all of our wonderful alumnae who attended. We loved seeing you. It's crazy to think about but we started our LNC interview slating process for the next executive board on October 20. They will be slated a few weeks prior to the interviews. I cannot believe how quickly my time as president has flown by and I wish it would slow down. I wouldn't give back a second of it and I am so honored to have represented this amazing chapter. I can't wait to see what the next executive board will accomplish for our chapter. It has been a pleasure. Pi Phi love always!
