Why wouldn't you want your gift to have twice the impact? Just think, your five-year pledge of $2,500 would garner a total of $5,000 toward the campaign! Special and sincere thanks to our challenge donors, Ken Krucks '75, Dave Schulte '83, and Tom Olive '85. Since we still need $98,000 to fulfill our match, I ask that if you have not contributed, please fill out the enclosed pledge card and return your commitment today. Please, do not delay. We need your support to ensure our construction timeline stays on track and our project is completed next year. If you have already contributed, please consider adding a year to your pledge schedule to take advantage of the $150,000 challenge. If you have not contributed, now is the time! As you can see, this project is happening and we need the support of every brother to achieve success. Please use the enclosed pledge form to return your gift today. As always, visit our website for regular photos and updates of the house, as well as to contribute online—www.drakethetachi.org. Also, see page 2 for a photo spread of last spring's Relays and Blow the House Down event. Teardown of our beloved home began on August 1, and now nothing exists on the Theta Chi lot but a patch of land primed for construction. Drake Relays and Blow the House Down In April, over 100 brothers gathered for Relays and the Blow the House Down event. Friday night was the welcome reception under the tent and Saturday morning we held a career networking session that was very well attended by both undergraduates and alumni. By mid-day, we held our graduating seniors ceremony, welcoming them into alumni status, and the activation of Brother Bob Fagan '71, who was sent to the Vietnam War and was never officially activated. Local television was present and did a great job covering the event. Just before the annual barbecue, we held the official groundbreaking ceremony with representatives from OX Building Corporation, The Helping Hand Foundation, the capital campaign board, the undergraduate chapter, and Story Construction each turning the dirt to start the building project. Construction Update Since the house is now down, Story Construction is working on the site. By the time this goes to press, the foundation should be poured and construction will start so that the framing can be completed before the Des Moines winter hits. View the online camera at www.ibeamsystems. com/private/thetachi. Once completed, a time-lapse video of the construction will be available. Demolition Is Complete, Construction to Start Soon! $150,000 Challenge Ongoing, $98,000 Still Available for Matching Opportunity The site as of September 22. The new Gamma Tau chapter house will soon be a reality. It is our intention to have the house ready for tours at Relays 2015, so make your plans now for the weekend of April 24-25. Please follow the progress at our website, www.drakethetachi.org, as well as on our Facebook page. Campaign Still Needs Support To see our vision of a new Gamma Tau chapter house finally taking shape is exciting and a tangible symbol of the hard work and effort our campaign volunteers have invested in this endeavor. However, there is still much to be done. Don't forget, our $150,000 dollar-for-dollar challenge is still going! So far, we have matched $52,000 of that amount. We need another $98,000 to complete the challenge. That would bring us to just inches from reaching the final $1,856,000 goal. The opportunity to have your dollars doubled is a limited time opportunity. December 31 is our cutoff date, so don't delay. UNDER CONSTRUCTION Donate today at www.drakethetachi.org
