packed calendar for October and ENJOY!
Dogwood Fall Festival
New this year to Downtown Fayetteville, the folks behind the
Dogwood Festival, are bringing much buzz to Halloween activities
on Oct. 23-25 as they feature not only their traditional Historic
Haunting hayrides and support the 4th Friday Zombie Walk, but
also are hosting the Lafayette Asylum haunted house tour (super scary!), the Boo & Brew beer garden, live music,
kid's activities, a food truck rodeo and more! For more information, visit www.faydogwoodfestival.com.
4th Friday Zombie Walk!
You might see zombies on TV, but downtown has the real costumed deal when zombies come out for a procession
down Hay Street this 4th Friday, Oct. 24. The ever popular, yet extremely scary event brings the masses down in
costume and makeup to revel in, well, all things zombie. There will be music hosted by The Rock Shop and
the fun with the Dogwood Fall Festival afterwards in Festival Park. For more information, visit
www.therockshoplive.com.
Halloween Activities at the Museum of the Cape Fear Complex
The Poe House Victorian Halloween is being featured at scheduled times now until Oct. 31 with a free tour to
learn about the Poe House and traditional Halloween decor. And from Oct. 17-18 and 24-25, celebrate Hallowe'en
Revels featuring actors portraying members of the Poe Household for a true Halloween themed tour. Tickets are
$3 for ages 7 and up (children 6 and under, free). Tours run every 20 minutes until 9 p.m. Of course, if that was not
enough, the Poe House Trick or Treat will be held Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a costume contest ($1 entry
fee), scavenger hunt and traditional Halloween carnival games. Visit www.ncdcr.gov/ncmcf for more information.
Downtown Fayetteville Trick or Treat!
The merchants of the Fayetteville Downtown Alliance will be treating
pint-size ghosties and ghouls with candy delights (as supplies last) on
Thursday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. Come bring your children dressed in
the Halloween best for a safe, well-lit place to Trick or Treat! New this
year, the Downtown Alliance is also adding opportunities for photos of
your children (in costume!!) and activity booths sponsored by local
businesses. For more information, visit www.faydta.org.
