We're gearing up for one of our busiest semesters yet and could not be more excited. GAMMA IOTA WELCOMES 83 NEW MEMBERS Starting off the semester on a great note, the ladies of Gamma Iota had a very successful Pride Week, which led to an even more successful recruitment. With the work of our fabulous recruitment team, consisting of Diana Nguyen '11, Lauren Safran '11, Lynna Lawrence '12, and our consultant Emily Rose Jacobsen, Iota Chi-MTSU '10, we welcomed 83 beautiful new members into our chapter and are so eager to watch them flourish in our sisterhood! In addition to our new members, we also welcomed Jerri Huddleston, our new house mom. MAKING STRIDES During this crazy recruitment time, our executive board has been working hard to ensure that we have a fun and fulfilling semester. We have set out to increase our GPA, since we easily achieved last semester's goal of a cumulative 3.4. Another goal is to continue to ensure that all of our members seek involvement on campus outside of Alpha Chi. Last semester, we increased involvement in Dance Marathon, student government, and major-specific clubs. We were very successful in beginning this goal and hope to have 100 percent of our members involved in outside organizations by the end of fall semester. As a final goal, the next executive board will be in place by the end of the semester. By providing the next board with the resources they need, they will feel prepared and ready to pick up on all the hard work that our current executive board has achieved thus far and continue to make great strides for our chapter. UPCOMING EVENTS We hosted our families for a fun-filled weekend on September 12-14. The gentlemen of Phi Kappa Tau invited us to tailgate with them before heading over to The Swamp to watch the Gators take on the Kentucky Wildcats. We will be promoting Domestic Violence Awareness month in October by hosting our annual army-themed philanthropy, G.I. Alpha Chi. This event will be held on Flavet Field on October 4. The funds we raise during this event will benefit our local women and children's shelter, Peaceful Paths. We anticipate having another very prosperous event. STOP BY AND SEE US We cannot wait to share all the successes that await us this semester and are looking forward to another very exciting year. As always, we greatly appreciate the encouragement and continued dedication from our alumnae! We hope that if you are ever in town that you will stop by and see our beautiful house and all the renovations that were completed this summer.
