TAU KAPPA EPSILON q BETA ETA CHAPTER q MISSOURI S&T q FALL 2014 BETA ETA DATA BETA ETA SETS $1 MILLION GOAL FOR NEW CHAPTER HOUSE CONSTRUCTION $609,188 Already Committed from 139 Loyal Fraters B eta Eta of Tau Kappa Epsilon has impacted the lives of more than 1,100 young men who have been initiated at Missouri University of Science and Technology. It gave us a support system that provided a lifetime of friendships, contacts, social opportunities, and simply fond memories. We all benefitted from being Beta Eta Tekes. Many of us can say it helped form who we are today. When the university set plans for Bertelsmeyer Hall, a new chemical and biochemical engineering building on campus, the TKE alumni leadership knew it was time to take action to secure our own future at Missouri S&T. When the opportunity arose for us to sell our property at 1107 State Street and obtain land on Fraternity Row, we knew it was the right decision for Beta Eta. We want to provide our undergraduate members with the best options on campus. With the ever increasing competition on campus, we need to position Beta Eta to attract the best men at the university. When we set out to start the Pride in Our Past, Securing Our Future campaign, we came up with three main goals to focus on: 1. Build a Chapter House that will ensure our members safety, complies with building codes, and utilizes energy-efficient systems. 2. Provide members with access to the technology needed to meet the demands of the student today and tomorrow. 3. Offer our members amenities that other residence halls and off- campus housing are providing to appeal to the best and brightest men coming to the university. Overall, we want to provide a high-quality, durable facility that will provide a safe living and state-of-the-art learning environment for generations. The alumni who came before us provided the tradition that each of us helped build upon. This is the chance in our lives to repay what TKE provided us. Those of us who enjoyed the brotherhood, camaraderie, and support of our fraternity will forever owe a debt of gratitude for that unique experience. Now is the time to join the 139 Fraters who have already pledged $609,188 to the campaign, and provide the same wonderful experience to a new generation of Beta Eta Tekes. We need your help to reach our $1 million fundraising goal. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project and the ways in which you may help. We hope you will join our growing list of loyal supporters who wish to ensure the lasting impact of the TKE experience on the lives of young men attending Missouri S&T.
