P A G E 5 P I B E T A P H I The Smile That Does Not Change Judy Grundy Presswood '59 This photo perfectly illustrates Judy's contagious attitude! Her smile is an extension of her passionate heart for her family, her church, and her Texas Gamma sisters. She is a first responder with outreach of care, involvement, and gifts. Her gift to the From Roots to Wings campaign was one of the first received. She is interested in the future of this outstanding Chapter. Brothers in Sigma Alpha Epsilon David Wight '60 and Mike Stinson '62 David and Mike, brothers in SAE, remember the Pi Phis as "mature, intelligent, and together women, who were classically beautiful but pursing loftier goals than mere beauty alone." Their gifts to the From Roots to Wings campaign are made in memory of two Texas Gamma sisters, Gay Haught Wight '62 and Jenny Ridge Stinson '62. Mike says, "Gay and Jenny were best of friends and wonderful women, who became our wives and mothers to our children and who graced our lives for many years." When they were students, these men "loved the name of Pi Phi." Sisters, Sisters, Sisters Mary Ann Duckworth Ince '63 and Leslie Duckworth Ince '65 Mary Ann and Leslie are sisters by birth, sisters in the wine and silver blue, and sisters-in-law by marriage. These happy sisters have dedicated years to Texas Gamma. They exemplify what is meant when we say membership in Pi Phi is a lifetime commitment. Between marriage, raising a total of three Texas Gamma daughters, Junior League, church, and everyday living, these special sisters have always found time for Pi Phi. Mary Ann has been a member of the House Corporation for years and served as chairman for the last 10 years. Leslie also served on the House Corporation and the Alumnae Advisory Committee. When asked to describe Texas Gamma, both proudly relay how amazed they are at the accomplishments, organizational skills, and strength of character of our Texas Gamma young women. Hats off to our sisters, Mary Ann and Leslie, who are supporters and contributors to the From Roots to Wings campaign. Lifelong Volunteer Betty Waller Martin '67 Betty, Texas Gamma Chapter president in 1970, is a lifelong volunteer. Betty is a past president of the Dallas Junior League. Her focus for the past 15 years has been weekly reading for the blind. Betty's gift to the From Roots to Wings campaign was made in memory of her sister, Patsy Waller Nichols, Louisiana Alpha'68. Betty is a wonderful representative of Pi Phi's commitment to literacy. Ring Ching to Betty! The Talented Malouf Sisters Jennie Malouf Gilchrest '76, Linda Malouf Walter '79, and Leslie Malouf '80 (not pictured) The Malouf sisters share their love for the women and principles of Pi Beta Phi, especially the ideals of Philippi- ans 4:8. They named the dining room in memory of their mother, Eleanor Malouf, who prepared a beautiful meal nightly for her family of 10, attended by lively conversation. All eight children grew up working in the family's fine clothing business, learning skills that would translate to their current businesses. Jennie owns a stationery shop, The Write Choice, Linda designs textiles, and Leslie manages production services for Neiman Marcus Group Services. They also volunteer for various politically conservative and Christian endeavors. Their mother set the tone for hospitality, and she delighted in hosting many gatherings for Pi Phis while her daughters were at Tech. Texas Gamma Pi Phis Add Oklahoma Alphas to the Family Liz Hickman Miller '89, Carly Norwood, Oklahoma Alpha '14, Libby Norwood, Oklahoma Alpha '11, and Cathy Hickman Norwood '82 Cathy, Liz, and mom, Gladys Cran- dall Hickman '55, welcome their granddaughters, daughters, and niec- es, Libby and Carly, to the Pi Phi family tree. The Hickman family gift is made in honor of these special girls and in memory of the aunt and great-aunt, Pat Crandall '57. Mom to Our Little Legacy, Ainslee Adair Analisa Brooks Brewer '03 Analisa was the third Texas Gamma Chapter president in her family, which now boasts eight Texas Gammas. She spends her days lovingly attending to her daughter, Ainslee, whom we anticipate being a member of the pledge class of 2021. Analisa, along with her church work and obligations to Fort Worth Junior League, has found time to give back to Pi Phi by serving on the From Roots to Wings campaign. Analisa is a bubble of happiness and brings much joy to all who know and love her. PBF Texas Gamma From Roots to Wings Sisters and Friends Show Their Support for Pi Beta Phi
