T E X A S G A M M A C H A P T E R P A G E 4 E ven though the daylight ushered in gales of wind filled with Lubbock sand, April 28 proved to be a very special day for Texas Gamma. Lubbock alumnae, special Pi Phi guests, and the active Chapter met at the lodge prior to the Founders' Day celebration for a ceremony to bless the lodge. Members bought markers to write notes of blessing and scripture on the floor and studs before the sheetrock sealed these words until another time of renovation. To close our special time, a prayer was given before everyone divided into each doorway and room to say their own words of prayer and blessing. This house will hold special memories for generations to come, and we all wanted to give the structure and its sisters added strength to face the needs of the future. From the lodge, we all caravanned to downtown Lubbock for our Founders' Day event. After the candle lighting ceremony, a lovely dinner was served, followed by a time of special recognition and awards. A choir of active angels concluded the celebration by serenading us from a beautiful staircase. We felt like we were truly in heaven. Any organization is only as strong as its weakest member, but be assured— there are no weak links in this active Chapter! Pi Beta Phi is still a leading force not only at the Greek level, but on the university level as always. Thank you, active Chapter angels, for continuing to point your arrows high. Yours in Pi Beta Phi, Tracie Erwin Brooks '75 Campaign Chairman rafterb212@suddenlink.net Casey Kopp '12, Maddie Holman '13, Brooke Adams '12, and Wesley Metter '13 write notes of blessing. Leaving a Legacy Tile Event Allows Members to Commemorate New Lodge P i Phi's spring 2014 sisterhood event was a huge success. VP of Membership Sarah Monroe '11 organized the event at The Mud Room in Lubbock, where all members had the opportunity to paint a special tile that will be displayed in the beautiful new lodge. The Chapter loved the idea of leaving their own personal fingerprint on our new home! Do You Know Any Arrow Men? S isters, we need your help identifying our beloved Arrow Men. If you know of an Arrow Man, please send his name and approximate dates of service to Tracie Erwin Brooks '75 at rafterb212@suddenlink.net so we can update our archives.
