T he conclusion of the 80th biennial convention of Phi Delta Theta this summer marked the end of a record-setting award recognition year for Indiana Zeta. Having already been cited as a DePauw Chapter of Excellence, the Indiana Zeta Chapter was recognized by the General Fraternity with administrative and Chapter operations excellence by winning the General Headquarters' Trophy and named a Gold Star recipient. Only 10% of chapters across the United States and Canada were awarded Gold Star status and Phi Delt was one of only two fraternities recognized as a Chapter of Excellence at Old Gold. It had been about a dozen years since the Chapter was so highly awarded. In fact, the Chapter was a finalist for the Founders Trophy—the highest award for chapters in their school and Greek system size category. As a finalist, the Phi Delt Chapter House, members, and campus were featured in a video tribute before 800 at the grand banquet. Five DePauw Phis attended the event including the current Chapter President Sean Kyle '15 and former President Jake Rust '15. Peter Stuart '14 worked at the event as a newly hired leadership consultant. Alumni Advisors "CJ" Johnston '83 and Vince Aguirre '12 also were there to learn and support.
