Epsilon Beta Top-Ranked in Academics Chapter Looks Forward to Another Successful Semester I am proud to say that Epsilon Beta Chapter had a very fun, exciting, and successful spring semester. We succeeded in our vision to generate a more unified, fulfilling, and joyful chapter. Our chapter bonded with multiple sisterhood events, two spring philanthropies, on-campus activities, and many more Kappa-filled events! Chapter Earns Top Ranking for GPA Epsilon Beta received top Panhellenic chapter GPA with a cumulative chapter GPA of 3.22. We are now ranked first out of nine PHC chapters at Colorado State University. Our 3.22 GPA was possible with 49 scholars earning above a 3.5, and 14 scholars earning a 4.0. Focus on Philanthropy Our philanthropy committee planned two philanthropy events this past semester. We held our second annual Kappa Kisses event on campus, where we sold chocolate kisses and had CSU students write cards dedicated to American troops. We sent all our proceeds and cards to Operation Gratitude. We also held our second annual Kappa Klassic golf tournament philanthropy event. We expanded the event from 2013 by adding a homemade cinnamon roll breakfast before the tournament. We raised more than $3,700 this year to support the Claire Davis Fund, Reading is Fundamental, and the Kappa Foundation. Epsilon Betas around Campus Getting involved with campus activities and other Greek organizations is always something our members look forward to. Last semester our event chairman planned a surprise ice cream and game night social with Sigma Nu and Alpha Sigma Phi. We also participated in the Harry Potter- themed Greek Week. The event-filled week ended with a full day of community service at CSUnity where our members helped the Little Shop of Physics team. Leadership Epsilon Beta is proud to have two members present on the Panhellenic Executive Council. Madeleine Sheahan '11 was elected as PHC president and Courtney Gaskins '11 as the Vice President of Scholarship. We are also proud that Standards Adviser, and EB Kappa alumna, Kelly Steinway '05 received the 2014 Greek Adviser of the Year award. Epsilon Beta has received this award two years in a row with Lee Conway, Drake University, Gamma Theta '66, being honored in 2013. Epsilon Beta is so thankful for the support and guidance we receive from our wonderful Advisory Board. Save the Date A Key Affair alumnae event was a hoot once again! Thank you to all the alumnae who came to celebrate our wonderful sisterhood within Kappa Kappa Gamma this March. Please don't forget to mark your calendars with Epsilon Beta's Founder's Day celebration on October 12th. This two-part event is one you won't want to miss! Epsilon Beta is so thankful for all your support. Our big blue door is always open, so don't hesitate to swing by to see our newly updated house or simply enjoy coffee with some of your sisters.
