Kappa Kappa Gamma 5 Alumnae News Charlene Williams Reimers '58 plays in a Kappa bridge club once a month. She lives in Lincoln, Neb., and has three married sons. Her husband, Kirk, passed away July 2011. E-mail: cwr1536@aol.com Sharon Glahn Niblock '59 retired from her position as a faculty member and department chair at the Community College of Spokane in 2006. She spent 35 years teaching mainly at community college level and won several teaching awards. In her retirement, she serves as president of several organizations, volunteers, and is active in Spokane KKG alumnae group. E-mail: s.nib@hotmail.com Vera Kirchmar Stafford '59 graduated from CSU to earn her B.A. at University of Colorado and M.A.L. at University of Denver. Her career was in special libraries in Colorado. Post-retirement she has served on the Jefferson County Library board and the Jefferson County Library Foundation board. She enjoys too many activities to mention, but has one granddaughter who is an active Kappa at Colorado College and she was happy to participate in the winter initiation ceremonies. She also serves as chairman of the Louisville Senior Advisory Board, Boulder Democrats, and St. Joseph Church in Lakewood. She enjoys her Kappa alumnae group activities and AAUW book club. She served on the Lamar City Council from 1987 to 1992, was mayor from 1992 to 1999, and was the first vice president for the Colorado Democratic Party from 1995 to 2000. She decided to take her love for Kiwanis and the young children she serves and run for Rocky Mountain District governor. She writes, "It's a big job but a great experience and involved wonderful people." She has two children who are married and have given her four beautiful grandchildren, three girls and one boy. She is still involved in the Lakewood, Colo., community with service on three boards, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver, Hispanic Chamber Education Foundation, and Red Rocks Community College Foundation. Denise writes that she is taking the time to discover new passions and potentially a new vocation.
