GUZ BUZ 3 Chapter Works toward Premier Status Alumni Encouraged to Visit This Fall T he Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha regained housing in the North Carolina State Greek Village. We continue to grow and build our home on the court this upcoming year with 25 brothers living in the Chapter House. With an effort from both undergraduate and alumni brothers, we will be starting meal service in the house this fall! Campus Cooks will provide a culinary-trained professional for our kitchen. We are excited for this new endeavor and to share in the experience of chapter-wide meals. We want to thank the members of our Housing Corporation, Don Holloway, GU 797, Shelly Norton from Campus Cooks, and Greek Life Director Shelly Dobek for helping us in this process. Highest Level of Distinction for IFC Standards Last semester our Chapter had many great achievements. We were the only Fraternity within the Interfraternity Council at NC State to receive 100% completion on our standards binder. This means that we excelled in philanthropy, new member education, risk management, and campus involvement. Also, our Chapter GPA for the semester was a 3.13 with five brothers earning a 4.0. Our new member GPA was 3.31. We initiated 12 outstanding associate members who show promise to help continue improving our Chapter in all aspects. 2014 General Assembly a Success On July 24, Gamma Upsilon had the honor to attend the 55th Lambda Chi Alpha General Assembly in Phoenix, Arizona. We had an amazing time networking with brothers from all over the country. We shared stories, learned how our Chapters operate, and discussed ways to improve our organizations. Matthew Westbrook, GU 1238, our vice president, served as our general assembly delegate and voted on important legislation to help build a superior and sustainable national Fraternity. While in Phoenix, we met former GU High Alpha, Francis D'Antonio, GU 1166, and were able to share our Lambda Chi experiences along with our vision for the future. Alumni, Visit 2613 Fraternity Court We are extremely grateful for all of the alumni support this year. Our alumni are undoubtedly helping to guide our Fraternity as we strive to be the strongest chapter at NC State. We look forward to the upcoming school year and our many planned events, ranging from an undergraduate Mountain Weekend in Tennessee to an alumni band party at the Chapter House the night before Homecoming. We want to invite all alumni to 2613 Fraternity Court to both our official events and to just come hang out. There are always brothers at the house shooting basketball, watching sporting events, and just enjoying each other's company. We hope you will join us.
