Keppinger, batting .307 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 43 games this season since his return from foot surgery, is looking forward to playing for a team in the playoff hunt. The defending World Series champion Giants entered Tues- day’s game in first place in the NL West. ‘‘I get to go to a team that’s in contention,’’ he said. ‘‘This will be the first time I’ve ever actually been on a team that’s been in first place or even with a winning record. It’s defi- nitely exciting and that’s what you want when you play this game.’’ The last-place Astros received right-handed starter Henry Sosa and right-hander reliever Jason Stoffel. Bluff and Tanner Tweedt roped one to the fence to drive home the tying run. Both Red Bluff teams reached their championships, undefeated, so they would have to be beaten twice in their respective double-elimination tournaments. The 12-year-olds would get a bit of a home coming should they advance. The Northern California Divisional Tournament is behind hosted by Chico Eastside Little League.
