Building on a Tradition of Excellence The Gamma Xi Campaign T his year has proven to be monumental in Gamma Xi Chapter's 60-year history. We have been working hard on the Building on a Tradition of Excellence campaign to raise more than $750,000 for the construction of our new lodge, which will be of great significance for our chapter and will allow us to compete with other sororities on campus for the best and brightest at Tech. To date, the campaign has received $705,575 in pledges from 218 donors. While 218 sounds like a large number, it means that more than 1,500 alumnae have not contributed. We are launching a friendly class competition to get more women involved. Any initiation class that reaches 50% participation or more will be awarded with special recognition in the new lodge, and the class with the highest participation rate will receive naming rights to the garden area outside the lodge. Your DG experiences provided you with new friends, lasting memories, and a sisterhood that is unmatched. Now is your chance to join with your class and make a gift that will not only help exceed our campaign goal, but also be honored in the new chapter house for years to come. Since the campaign announcement, we have contacted sisters via letters, e-mails, Gamma Xi Anchor articles, and class leader calls, sharing our plans and how great the needs and opportunities are. Many alumnae are making pledges while others have voiced support but are waiting to make their commitments. Now is the time! The contractor has been selected, but we need your support to secure financing from the bank and begin construction this fall. It is imperative we reach our campaign goal and participation goal of 45% to build according to our plans. Please remember, all donors pledging $2,500 or more will have their names inscribed on a prominently displayed plaque in the new lodge. Participating in this campaign is a great way to give back just a little of what the Delta Gamma experience gave to you. Your pledge will show your continued commitment to our undergraduate sisters, fellow alumnae, and the promises you made at your initiation into our beloved sorority. Throughout this campaign process, it has been a delight to revisit old friends, make new ones, and see how much the Gamma Xi Chapter experience has meant to all of us.
