Red Door House Corporation P.O. Box 2051 Fort Collins, CO 80522 Address Service Requested compensation and labor relations in several plant locations, corporate headquarters, and overseas. For over five years he was responsible for human resources in the Asia Pacific Region and was stationed in Hong Kong. The four years John spent at Colorado Gamma aided his career by teaching him to live and work with a variety of different people with different personalities. "It was reflective of what I ran into in the business world. I think it's learning to live within a group atmosphere and to compromise," John said. Some of John's favorite memories of his time in the chapter house include Flower Dance and intramural sports. He also has fond memories of meals shared with brothers, and the day-to- day life in the chapter house. "I made some really close relationships and friendships that I carry on today," he said. He also recalls alumni who were involved in the chapter and how impressed he was with the genuine interest men like Jasper French '39 showed in the chapter operations. "They had a continual interest in the chapter and gave of their time and talents. This was a good example and good role models of alumni when I was in the house," he said. John's friendships throughout the years have inspired him to support the chapter in the capital campaign. "The fraternity and the people I was associated with meant a lot to me at the time, and I have fond memories of those years. I want to be sure that other younger people have a chance at as good of an experience as I did," he said. John foresees the renovation helping the chapter with recruitment. "We must maintain a physical facility and living conditions that matches the quality of men we want in the chapter," he said. As a campaign era leader, John has had the opportunity to reach out to many brothers about supporting Colorado Gamma. He hopes that brothers will reflect on the positive experiences they had in the chapter and make an investment in its future. John and his wife, Maggie, live in Washington, Illinois. He keeps busy in retirement with his many hobbies, including trap and skeet shooting, outdoor cooking, gardening, woodworking, and hunting. He also has a 2-year-old labrador retriever that will be the third dog he has trained for hunt tests. Maggie and John are also raising a 6-year-old granddaughter.
