Girls Nights Out Downtown!
Now, this one is for the ladies in town. Girls, whether you are married, single, kids or no kids, we have some fabulous
options for girl's nights out downtown and a little fun at the end of the week! Try these out for a few ideas:
• Find your inner Picasso at Wine and Design at 114 Donaldson Street. It is so much fun. Sign up for a night, get your
girlfriends together, bring some wine and learn how to paint! You'll be amazed at what you bring home on canvas. Oh,
and every month, Greg's Pottery, Art and Gifts at 122 Maxwell Street will also host girls nights to paint pottery!
• And speaking about wine, try a variety with your choice of sweets or cheeses at The Wine Café at 108 Hay Street.
Angie and gang will teach you the ins and outs of what you are drinking for a truly fun (and educational) time! Or take a
cooking class with Mustafa at Sherefe!
• Take a blissful yoga class at Embrace Yoga Studio, learn to rock climb at The Climbing Place, get your workout on at
Elevo Dynamics at 110 Person Street, Iron Forged Athletics at 444 W. Russell Street or Vertex Health & Performance at 116 E. Russell Street, maybe even get
some skateboarding instruction at DoubleDecker Skatepark – and just remember, we Carolina girls don't sweat, we "glow."
• What about a group hair or spa appointment? Try Fusion Salon, Beautiful Transitions, Euphoria Color and Hair Salon, Showin' Love Hair Salon, Mi Hwa's
Salon & Spa or any of our other great establishments and leave the door looking your best while reenacting your best Steel Magnolias impressions.
• Make your own jewelry at The Twisted Jeweler at 311 Hay Street including earrings, bracelets or necklaces or shop in our cute shops together to find new fun fall
accessories or learn how to knit in one of the table groups at All Things by Hand at 25 Market Square. Get creative!
• Have a fabulous dinner with wine, martinis or sweet tea on the patio, do some great shopping then walk over to the Cameo Art House Theatre for the latest
romantic comedies or dramas.
Of course, downtown is a great place for date nights and also to bring your families, but sometimes, it is fun just
to let loose and get girly. Downtown is the place to be!
Small Plate Crawl and Meet the Artist Night for 4th Friday!
This 4th Friday you are in for a treat! For the first time, the newly formed Downtown Fayetteville Restaurant
Association will be hosting a Small Plate Crawl starting Wednesday, Aug. 20 through 4th Friday on Friday, Aug.
22. Download your free "passport" at www.faydta.org and visit three or more restaurants during the three day
period for a chance to win fabulous prizes including a one night stay for 2 at Medaloni Cellars or a $100 gift card
from Sysco. There are ten restaurants participating with prices ranging from $5 to 10 for tasting plates and you
will want to try them all!
Also, on 4th Friday is your chance to meet all of the artists and sponsors behind the Whimsical Dogwood public
art project from 6 to 8 p.m.! There are 15 pieces brought to you by the City of Fayetteville with presenting
sponsor The Fayetteville Observer and supporting sponsor Cross Creek Mall along with a cultural arts tourism
grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. Pick up your Whimsical Dogwood poster at 222
Hay Street and visit all 15 for artist autographs, sponsor information and a chance to win a fun downtown gift
basket at the end of the night.
Remember, if you see one you like, the Whimsical Dogwoods will be available for auction in October. Pieces
will be retouched by artists and ready for permanent installation around Fayetteville and Cumberland County!
