On Monday, July 21st the Quartzsite Recreation Summer Program kids were treated to a fi eld trip to the Science Center in Phoenix. As noted on its website, the science center is designed to spark a child's fascination in science and technology through hands-on, interactive learning. 40 children and 9 adults spent an afternoon exploring the exhibits. The fi eld trip, the fi rst one in many years, was a combined effort be- tween the Town and a few generous sponsors. The town provided the transportation by renting a bus out of Yuma. Carrollynn Henshaw, Yesenia Jackson and Monica Timberlake, organized the trip and paid for the Science Center admission and dinner for everyone at Cacti's Pizza. Town Manager Skylor Miller, and his wife Danielle, provided and prepared sack lunches for everyone and those were distributed as soon as the kids got to Phoenix. An event like this isn't possible without chaperones. Yesenia Jackson, Eliana Villicana, Danielle Miller, Alicia Korsball, Monica Timberlake, Janet Collier, Nicci Collier, Lane Collier, and Sgt. Fabi Garcia joined the kids and made sure they all returned safely. The kids had so much fun, the Town hopes to provide more fi eld trips in the future. | Youth enjoy field trip to Science Center
