Campaign FAQs FAQ's: Giving Options • Is my gi tax deductible? e Internal Revenue Service will allow "exclusively educational" space in the newly constructed chap- ter house to be funded with tax-deductible dollars that are gied to the Texas Alpha Endowment Fund of Phi Kappa Psi and designated for the Capital Campaign. Gis to the Endowment Fund are 100% tax deductible to the donor allowed by law and will be utilized to support "exclusively educational" areas of the chapter house. However, only a portion of the project is deemed "exclusively educational." rough his donations to date and in the future, Scott Noble will contribute $12.5 million in non-tax deductible dollars towards completion of the project. us allowing all other donors to make their gis tax deductible to the Texas Alpha Endowment Fund. e project as designed will need the help of brothers to raise the additional $4 million through the Texas Alpha Endowment Fund. • What makes a campaign successful? e emphasis that each brother puts on his gi to commemorate his experience. Texas Alpha is poised to secure the premier fraternity seat at Texas for the long term and while the undergraduates and alumni volunteer boards are doing everything in their power to usher in the next chapter of Texas Alphas history, it will take the support of many brothers answering the call now to support Texas Alpha like never before. It is the goal of the campaign executive committee to raise more than $4 million for the new Chapter house. • How do we distinguish this campaign from the last one 10 years or so ago? Timing: e last campaign came in the midst of Hurricane Katrina which put our region and country into a focus on recovery. It was not a good time to be asking for money for a new fraternity house when many in New Orleans had no place to live. Today the Texas economy is vibrant with a bright future on the imme- diate horizon. Location: e location for the next house was where the old house was located no closer to campus for educational purposes. We would have remained one of the houses farthest from campus and quite a distance from sororities compared to other fraternities.
