Making Memories for a Lifetime We all have great memories of our time at Ole Miss. The football parties and games, everlasting friendships, fraternity brothers' support, and all the educational/ social aspects of the fraternity are still fresh in our memories. Chi Psi provided us with a home away from home and the support we needed to be successful in college and afterward. That is why we believe it is so important for us to construct a new Lodge for our undergraduate brothers. They should be afforded opportunities to create the same and even better memories as us. Housing in Short Supply at Ole Miss Ole Miss remains very strong in Greek involvement with more than 30% of undergraduates participating. Last year's incoming freshman class was the largest on record and 2014 is projected to be even larger. On-campus housing is at an all-time premium and in short supply. The addition of our Lodge will fill a growing need for our brothers in providing meeting, dining, and sleeping accommodations at the best location on campus. Increase in Participation Needed In our initial phase of the campaign, we have been very pleased with the generous pledges and donations we have received from our alumni and friends. To date, we have pledges and donations totaling $951,000. This is impressive considering the young age and limited number of our alumni base. As we have mentioned before, with our relatively small number of alumni our level for high participation is critical to success. Our goal remains $1.25 million. We are close; however, in order for us to announce our target for groundbreaking this fall, we must secure a large number of additional pledges. Next Phase of the Campaign This next fundraising phase involves selected class leaders contacting and soliciting all of their classmates. It is imperative that when contacted, everyone seriously considers supporting this campaign. Pledges can be split into payments over a five-year period, making it more manageable to give. Excelling on Campus Please note that during this campaign Alpha Gamma has been refounded and initiated 59 new members! Our total, with pledges, stands at 67. With the leadership of Doug Buglewicz '96, our Alpha advisor, we have added many quality young men to our brotherhood. For example, the current #2, Logan Dodson '14, has been awarded the Taylor Medal, which is the University of Mississippi's highest honor. In addition, our Alpha received an excellent rating from the Order of Omega for scholarship, membership development, philanthropy, campus involvement, community service, and risk management. Our national executive council has recognized Alpha Gamma in the "excelling" category. As you can see, Chi Psi is well on the way to becoming a sustained long-term force on campus. A Bright Future Ahead Since the inception of this campaign, everyone involved has stressed excellence in all phases, from the selection of new Brothers to the planning and design of our future Lodge, as well as securing a professional organization to assist us with raising the funds to complete this project. It's an exciting time at Ole Miss, and with our new Lodge Chi Psi will be a big part of a bright future. We invite all of you to join our campaign to build a new home for your Chi Psi brothers at Ole Miss!
