With almost $1,071,000 in commitments, we are close to our goal of $1.3 million, which we hope to achieve by the end of 2014. 19% of Alumni Have Given We are extremely thankful for the response from our generous donors. We have commitments from 249 SigEps, which is 19% of our alumni base. Due to your involvement, we were able to complete our renovation and our undergraduate brothers have now enjoyed two years in the new and improved SigEp home. While the renovation is complete, our work is not done. As described in previous newsletters, we must meet our fundraising goal of $1.3 million to successfully conclude our campaign. This means that raising the remaining $229,000 is necessary to alleviate our debt and to ensure the chapter is in the best financial position possible. The funds we have raised to date are absolutely impressive. However, of the amount contributed, we have collected $701,340, or 65%. The majority of our brothers made five-year pledges with payments extending into 2016, but our expenses are due now. So, as you can see, there is still plenty of need for your support. If you have yet to make a one- time gift or five-year pledge to the campaign, please come on board now; it's not too late! If you have already made a pledge, I ask that you consider making an early payment. If you have contributed a one-time gift, I ask that you make that same gift of an equal or greater amount in 2014. Any gifts that can be directed to the non-tax-deductible account are greatly appreciated. The campaign board members realize it has been a long road to see our SigEp home become a reality. But we cannot lose steam now! None of us wants to leave the burden of debt upon the shoulders of our undergraduate members, so please join with me in the effort to reduce our debt today! Fraternally, John J. Kapusky '69, Campaign Chairman (248) 767-7890 | jjk514@gmail.com T he brothers of Michigan Alpha Chapter have been hard at work this year and have a lot to show for it. Be it academics, philanthropy, or brotherhood, we've made great strides over the last two semesters. With an average GPA of 3.382, we have jumped 12 places in the fraternity rankings and are well above the all-men, all-Greek, and all-university averages. We are especially proud of our freshmen members, who tied for third among the IFC freshmen classes. Study hours in the chapel have paid off. At Michigan Alpha we continue to keep philanthropy a high priority, as an organization and as individuals. On April 6 we held our St. Baldrick's: Shaving for a Cure event for pediatric cancer research. We would sincerely appreciate any contributions from our alumni who would help us toward our goal of $25,000. We will be holding an inter-fraternity basketball tournament to raise funds as well. Independently, our brothers are also active, whether they are starting an organization to provide free college courses to the less fortunate or biking across the country to build homes. Significant Academic Improvement for Chapter Chapter Grateful for Alumni Involvement Miguel Naguit '13, Andrew Criste '14, and Chris Breuler '15 have their heads shaved to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
