SigMa phi epSilon Michigan alpha aluMni p.o. Box 130992 ann arBor, Mi 48113-0992 addreSS Service requeSted Thanks to the hard work of our AVC, the brothers of Michigan Alpha have enjoyed our second year at 730 Tappan St. With the addition of a ping-pong table and pool table in our chapter room, our house is becoming a home where every brother feels welcome to study or relax. Our most creative brothers have chipped in by decorating the walls with murals and tapestries, displaying our SigEp pride (see photo on page 1). We would like to sincerely thank all of the volunteers who put in the hours to keep our chapter running smoothly. None more than Lauren Campbell, our chapter counselor, who has been an incredible help for the executive board during their first few months on the job. Department of Justice for more than 12 years, the last six as chief of the criminal division for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of Nevada. "My time at Michigan set me up for success both in my graduate studies and in my law career. I think that living with a group of people, learning to get along with others, and taking on leadership roles as we did in the fraternity are things that we all have to do to succeed in life and in business." Drawing from these experiences, Russ made the decision to give back to SigEp when the opportunity arose through the chapter's capital campaign. Having been back to campus recently, Russ and some of his family saw the new house and met some of the undergraduate members there. "I could tell just by seeing the new house and meeting the guys that it's already having an effect on them. It's important that they have a permanent new home and nice that it's close to the Hill and State location that so many of us remember." "My college and fraternity experience has meant a lot to me and I thought this was a chance to give back a little bit of what I had been given. I would very much like to see more chapter members from the early 1980s giving to the campaign. We all benefitted in one way or another from our fraternity experience and now is the time to pay that back." Russ and his wife, Becky Raftery, a Michigan Law School graduate, make their home in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas. They also enjoy spending time in Chicago, where they worked for a number of years, and back in Michigan where they have family. Russ can be reached at remarsh2000@hotmail.com. Russ Marsh '83 (Continued from page 1) Shaving for a Cure is one of several events that will help SigEp reach its fundraising goal of $25,000. More than a dozen alumni returned to Ann Arbor for the Michigan vs. Indiana basketball game in March. Undergraduate brothers joined the group for dinner and all enjoyed Michigan's win over IU.
