In addition to the traditional Founders' Day rituals, the morning's highlights included celebrating two Lawrence 50-year alumnae, Linda Russell Reimond, Gamma Upsilon '64, and Jan Wolgamott Maddox, Gamma Upsilon '64, honoring graduating Beta Kappa seniors with pins and cream roses, and presenting chapter members with some fun, unique awards prepared by Vice President of Programming Bethany Macchi '12 and her crew. Chapter President Victoria Fetter '11 gave a state of the chapter address highlighting Beta Kappa's many accomplishments over the past year. Delta Gamma's Rock Chalk Revue cast, which was awarded best performance this year, sang their original song for the group. Our keynote speaker was Linda Reimond, director of Lawrence Arts Center Preschool, who recently created the first preschool vision screening program in Lawrence. Several Lawrence alumnae completed screening training with a Lawrence optometrist last summer and have screened all children at the Arts Center during the past six months. Looking forward, many Beta Kappa collegians have volunteered to help screen children in additional area preschool programs this spring and next fall. An auction of anchor items of all sorts raised funds for the Delta Gamma Foundation and several lucky alumnae and undergraduate winners took home some great new anchors. The morning concluded with serenades of past and present DG songs by both collegians and alumnae, including some favorites of the very first Beta Kappas. In attendance were Letha Epperle Bush '42 and Pat Creel Kelly '44, who sang a few of these songs as collegians! ITB, Lynn Stoneback Segebrecht '74 Sisters Gather for Founders' Day Delta Gamma and Pi Kappa Phi finished Rock Chalk Revue winning nine out of the 14 awards given, including audience choice and best overall show. Members performed their original song during the Founders' Day events. Volunteers Needed T he house corporation welcomed two new members this year, but we still need more volunteers!
