Sorority sisters support another sister's cause of standing up
to cancer by participating in the 2014 Relay for Life.

elissa Feiger '11, a junior education major from Northbrook,
Illinois, recently served as a Relay for Life co-chairman, which
came about through her position as vice president for College Against
Cancer, the student organization that plans the event. Relay for Life took
place on the same weekend as a few other events this year, but this didn't
stop Melissa. Despite these obstacles, she raised $5,415, the second-
highest amount at this year's event. She anticipates they'll reach their
overall goal of $145,000 soon.
Melissa has served on this team since her freshman year of college. Her
involvement began after participating in Relay for Life during her freshman
year of high school in honor of her grandmother, a cancer survivor. Since
joining AEPhi, Melissa has spread her passion for the cause to her sisters
and around the Greek community. AEPhi has large involvement in the
event annually, and three to four members normally sit on the board.
Melissa stated that this cause is important to many people in the chapter.
The sorority's number of women participating and helping fund the event
has increased.
Melissa is excited to help with Relay for Life again during her final year of
school, even as she begins her full-time student teaching. She can be reached
