The event, which combined fun with learning, allowed families to gain information on such child ser - vices and organizations in Tehama County as preschool, health care, Tehama County 4-H and counsel- ing. More than 40 agencies, each providing an activity for children, were set up at the event. Around 6:30 a.m. a resident, who had found one of the devices near the courthouse, brought it to the Red Bluff Police Department, Sgt. Kevin Busekist said. Around the same time a Tehama County Sheriff's deputy located a second device on the sidewalk out - side of the doors leading into the lobby of the Tehama County Supe- rior Court Department 3, said Te- hama County Sheriff's Lt. Yvette Borden. A 10-block area around the courthouse and the police sta- tion, where the first device was placed outside, was shut down as the Shasta County Bomb Squad was called in at 7 a.m. It arrived at 8:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Tehama County Sheriff's Office. About 100 reenactors donned period clothing and fired reproduction period weaponry in an event that aims to keep the war that killed more than 600,000 peo - ple alive. The event peaked with a duoofbattlesstagedonSatur- day and Sunday, when Union and Confederate soldiers charged the field at Samuel Ayer-Dog Island Park.
