BeTa Nu BulleTiN 4 in Memoriam Carolyn dunning Jackson '38 entered Chapter Eternal on November 25, 2013. She was a resident of Louisville, Ky., at the time of her death. Carolyn's daughter, Joanne Owen, shares this story of her mother: "My father who had graduated from the University of Kentucky in '39 was in Columbus, Ohio, in the fall of 1940. He and an Army friend stationed at Ft. Hayes stopped by the Kappa house to see if he could find out where a friend who was working for the Kappa headquarters was. Of course none of the sorority girls even knew about headquarters. So he asked to speak with the president. When mother came down to answer his question, he is to have said, 'I was looking for my friend… But I am not looking for her anymore.' Apparently, it was love at first sight!"
