Phi Mu Fraternity at Ole Miss 3 A lpha Delta is having a wonderful spring semester at the University of Mississippi. Already, 2014 has been filled with campus involvement, work to promote our philanthropy, and recognition of accomplishments for the women in our Chapter. On December 5, 2013, we initiated 114 women into the bond of Phi Mu. Entering the spring semester, women were placed on committees and in different positions within the Chapter to assist us in making Phi Mu the absolute best that it can be. Alpha Delta achieved a 3.01 Chapter GPA during the 2013 fall semester, beating the all-Greek average and the all-women's average. We had nine women inducted into Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. On February 22, Phi Mu participated in Ole Miss's second annual RebelTHON, a 12-hour dance marathon held to raise money for our philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network. Phi Mu had the highest participation rate out of every organization on campus and helped raise over $32,000 for the event. On March 3, members of Alpha Delta volunteered from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the local IHOP in Oxford to assist with National Pancake Day, which also helps raise money for Children's Miracle Network. On the University of Mississippi's Greek Day, Phi Mu was awarded $250 toward our philanthropy after being given an award for most participation. Our third annual Bonnamu philanthropy was on March 19 and featured different musical groups participating in a battle of the bands. Proceeds from the event went to our Chapter's philanthropy, LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. During National Ritual Week, Alpha Delta strove to honor the ritual of Phi Mu Fraternity. On March 2, the Chapter hosted an alumnae tea inviting women to the Phi Mu house for food and conversation. An open Founders' Day ceremony was held on March 3 after Chapter to celebrate 162 years of sisterhood. As always, the Alpha Delta Chapter of Phi Mu greatly appreciates the love and support that we receive from family members and Phi Mu alumnae. With a little over 350 members, we continue to work toward being a positive and hard-working group of women at the University of Mississippi.
